ST. GEORGE'S AMBITION FOR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION LEARNERS
It is important for our children to have a good understanding of the core beliefs of 6 world views for when they encounter people from different backgrounds and there have never been more opportunities for young people to explore the world and expand their horizons.
At St George’s, we aspire to enable children to become discerning, respectful human beings who are aware of their own and others beliefs and the impact of these on the ways they choose to live their life.
As Religious Education pupils, we aspire for our children to be Theologians, Philosophers and Social Students. At St George’s, we inspire our learners to have a curiosity and fascination about the world and to understand the different religious views of others they may encounter. We believe that our children should think critically about their own perceptions, being mindful and reflective of their own world view, whilst also making connections between different religions. Pupils’ achievement will be demonstrated through their positive attitude to learning and their ability to recall, and make connections between, the key beliefs of each world view.
