Headteacher's Welcome

 Welcome to St. George’s Primary School website which we hope will give you an insight into school life and the learning opportunities the children experience at our fantastic school. We are located on the beautiful Island of Portland, Dorset. Situated along the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site and joined to the mainland by Chesil Beach. St George’s is at the heart of the community and we ensure that our school provides a caring, friendly, inclusive and nurturing environment for our children.

It is an honour and privilege to lead this amazing school and serve our local community. We provide children with an ambitious and fun education where they experience high-quality, life-enriching opportunities that maximises academic progress as well as social, moral, spiritual and cultural development.

We aspire for our children to develop a lifelong love of learning and build a secure knowledge that will last a lifetime. We aim to provide all children with the knowledge, experience and life skills needed to become confident individuals, who can venture out into the wider world with the bravery, self-assurance and resilience needed to be happy and successful in the modern world.

St George’s has strong partnerships with local schools, parents and a variety of community groups. We are respectful and tolerant in of all forms of diversity and provide an education that promotes equality and equity of opportunity.

Ultimately, we want to inspire all children to believe in themselves and others, so that they achieve in their emotional, personal, social and academic success.
